Seminole, FL Real Estate

A Local's Guide to Living and Buying about the neighborhoods, lifestyle, and real estate market from The Straight Team.

Seminole sits on the western side of Pinellas County, tucked between Lake Seminole and the Intracoastal Waterway, just minutes from Indian Shores and Redington Beach. It's one of the county's most established family markets — the kind of place people move to and then stay for decades.

Neighborhoods to know

Seminole is made up of more than a dozen distinct pockets, each with its own character:

Bardmoor and Seminole Lake Golf & Country Club Estates

Golf course living with mature, tree-lined streets

Oakhurst Shores and Boca Ciega Ridge

Waterfront and near-waterfront living with boating access

Imperial Point

One of Seminole's most sought-after pockets, known for larger lots and updated homes

Twin Oaks and other 55+ communities

low-maintenance villas and condos popular with active adults

What living here is like

Most homes date from the 1940s through 1970s, giving Seminole a settled, mid-century Florida character, mixed with newer updates and some infill construction. Single-family homes are the most common housing type, alongside villas, condos, and a meaningful share of 55+ communities.

Locals lean into the coastal lifestyle without the beach-town price tag: Boca Ciega Millennium Park has a 35-foot observation tower and walking trails over the bay, the Pinellas Trail runs through the area for walking and biking, and it's a short drive to Gulf beaches for sunset picnics. Seminole is also close enough to St. Petersburg and Clearwater to reach either city's dining and arts scene in about 20–30 minutes.
